Once I again I could not say "No"! I am always looking for a challenge, not that I can't find those at home sometimes. :) Madison's Kindergarten Class had to bring a swatch of a blanket, shirt, or something they were close to as a baby. They were suppose to be 6x6 squares so they could be sewn together to form a blanket. Well, the kids turned them in and next thing we knew her Teacher was looking for someone to quilt these together. Well, I heard quilting and never gave it a second glance. It was not something I knew anything about and quite frankly had no interest in. Well, 4 months later and the Teacher is sending home a desparate note to the parents for someone to please volunteer to but these together. She said it did not have to be a quilt just anything resembling a blanket. Apparently, the blanket/quilt is suppose to be auctioned off at Family Fun Night in March. So I called a friend to see if she could help me with this if I took the challenge. Cheryl said of course she would help me so I called the Teacher and picked up the swatches. There might have been 2 or 3 swatches that were the 6x6 square originally requested. So we had our work cut out for us. But Cheryl has been a tremendous teacher and I have learned so much and might even be inspired to try this again sometime. Here are some pictures of the stages of this process. I have just a couple more things to finish it up but wanted to share this experience with friends and family! I will post the final product once we are complete!
