Well the day we have been dreading arrived. Jacob had his surgery this morning at 7:45am. We had to be at the surgery center by 6am. So it was an early morning. Jacob did wonderful. The nurses were so shocked at how calm and laid back he was. I think he was just exhausted. He pretty much stayed asleep during the surgery prep. He took the sleepy juice and cuddled up on the bed with a nice warm blanket provided by the surgery center. It was hard to leave him for the surgery. He woke up as they were taking him back but we just had to keep walking. They said he was outstanding and very cooperative for his age during the IV insertion and the rest of surgery prep. We finally got to see him in recovery after about an hour. It was the longest hour. Not quite as bad as when Jason had his surgery over a year ago. He was glad to see us but not all too happy about what was done to him. We took him home and he has been laying around ever since. We hope to have our energetic boy back within 3 days. Continue to keep him in your prayers. We appreciate all the prayers and calls today. Here are some pics of him at home. You can tell when the pain medicine kicked in. So sweet when they are sleeping. The nurses drew smiling faces on his bandages! He loved that. Madison enjoyed keeping the movies running for him all afternoon!

Glad everything went well!
Poor baby! I'm glad it's over now. Dreading it had to be awful.
Glad everything went well...what a brave boy! Ashlyn won't let me even clip her nails without a fight, I can't imagine what an IV would cause! We're headed down to San Antonio tonight...too bad we weren't there at the same time, that would've been fun! Best wishes for a speedy recovery!
I'm sorry I didn't know he was having surgery before. I hope everything continues to go well. I'll keep your family in my prayers!
