Update on the New Look

Three weeks after Jacob's head injury we are still seeing the Plastic Surgeon. We have a weekly standing with him on Wednesdays. I am not complaining. I think this guy is great. I highly recommend him if you ever go through anything like what we went through. His name is Dr. Stephen Meltzner. I have to describe this man to you. He came in when we were in the ER with jeans, plaid button down shirt and alligator boots. No white coat. I think that is why Jacob took to him so well. He dresses in the same boots everyday. From what I can gather he loves to travel and it appears to be mostly in the Carribean. He has a basket (large) full of sea shells he has brought back from his travels as well as pictures of fish and him scuba diving. Everytime Jacob comes in for a visit he gets to pick a sea shell from the basket to take home. He is getting a great collection going right now. Jacob is also the talk of the office. They tell me that everytime he comes in. He just eats it up too! :) The stitches (outer layer) were removed on November 21st. We are currently keeping sterie-strips on the scar. We will do this for 2 more weeks and then Dr. Meltzner says we will try something different. Not sure what that means but I trust him. I have a picture of the day after the stitches were put in and a picture from one week ago. It is amazing to me the difference in just a couple of weeks.

WOW!!! I'm not sure you are even going to be able to tell that he hit his head! Glad you went with the plastic surgeon!
