Rocket Math & Nails

As many of you know Madison is in First Grade but we feel like it is more like 3rd or 4th grade. She has a great Teacher with high aspirations for her students. So we are really getting the feel of homework and grades. Having said that, one of the areas Madison has struggled in is a thing called Rocket Math. She is very good at Math in general just not when she is timed. Rocket Math is a timed Math test where they must complete 40 problems in 60 seconds. Sounds easy but for some it is a challenge. She is doing a great job now that she has the hang of it. But we did set up an incentive plan to help keep her motivated. Her love language is constant reassurance and postive feed back. She has earned a movie date with me, we went to see Enchanted. I had the flu at the time and did not realize it but it was a great movie nonetheless. She has gotten to spend the weekend at Grandma & Grandpa's. She has also earned a privilege of having friends stay the night. The one thing she requests from me on a regular basis and I have to admit not something I am good at as far as doing it as often as she would like is painting her nails. We received some little jewels that you can put on your nails after you polish them. So here we are last Sunday afternoon fullfilling her request after completing another level in Rocket Math. Yes, I look very tired. I usually get the privilege of napping on Sunday afternoons and I let that go to do this with her. I loved every minute of it...until the nail polish started to peel after only a few hours. Oh well! It was the quality time that matters most! I love you Madison! Keep up the good work! :)

That's a lot of problems in only a minute. I don't think I could do that! Go Madison!!

She was VERY proud of those nails too. She showed them to me at Mon for the master!
