3 years and counting...

For the last 3 years I have braved adverse weather to join Madison in her yearly field trips at school. In Kindergarten, they went to the zoo...it rained and was cold. In First Grade, they went to a pumpkin patch...it rained and was a muddy mess. This year, you guessed it, rain, wind and cold at the zoo! The things we do for our children. As miserably cold and wet as it was, I was glad I got to share the experience with Madison. I know she was glad to have me there. As you might expect it was difficult to find any animals out at the zoo. But despite the lack of view, the kids had a great time. That is what's most important. Can't wait to see what next year will bring.

Checking out the zebras and giraffe's...one of the few animals that were out.

Being serenaded by a Wild Ass. The kids were not expecting this. He came down and just belted out a song. It was too loud for Madison that is why she is covering her ears.

Took a walk through the Trails.

Madison and her friend Rachel on the lions. There were wet but the girls just had to get up for the picture.

Feeding the ducks.

Parents would be thrilled to know their lunch went to the ducks. They were complaining about how hungry they were however, it changed once they saw the ducks.

Worn out walking.

Madison with her young teacher.

Some of her class. They were spread out so much I could not get a full picture.

You would think that the schools would learn that October may not be the best choice for an outside field trip. Hopefully the weather will be OK for us next week! Glad they had fun though!
