Snow Day #1

I say snow day #1 because I have a feeling that school will be cancelled tomorrow as well so I am mentally preparing for a second day at home! This is the first snow that Jacob can remember and certainly the first he will remember being out in! Madison could not wait to get out in it. However, the enthusiasm changed quickly when she decided to have a snow ball fight with her brother and the wind is still blowing so it came right back into her face when she tried to throw it. Neither one of them enjoyed getting their faces wet with the snow. So we only lasted a few minutes. Long enough to get pics! I have to add that we are not equipped for this type of weather. The kids do not have snow boots or snow suits. So it was fun trying to find clothes to layer them in so they would not get wet and cold too fast. Jacob wore 2 pairs of thick socks and a pair of 9W tennis shoes that he can not wear yet but fit perfectly with the layered socks. Hope you are all staying warm and enjoying time at home with each other if you are in our neck of the woods. For my family in San Antonio, TX, see what you are missing out on? I'm sure you remember those cold winter days in Kansas! :)

Luckily, I bought Carson a snow suit, boots, and mittens at the fall consignment sale. I knew he would probably only wear it once or twice but, it sure is nice. But, what to do about his face?
