It was windy pretty much everyday! Like we never left home!

Finally the post many of you have been waiting for. This is a long one so grab some thing to drink and a snack sit back and enjoy! We celebrated our 10 years of marriage with a cruise. Jason and I flew to Houston on Saturday and our friends drove down and picked us up from the airport. When they arrived at the Airport to pick us up Peter immediately apologized as he was loading up our bags. I am thinking why are you apologizing to us. Then I hopped in the back seat to be greeted by a four legged creature staring at me. Kim was holding a dog. I thought now you know we can not take him with us on the ship! Then they explained what had happened. You can check out their story on the link below. We left Galveston on Sunday May 25th. We cruised on the Carnival Conquest. This ship carried over 3,000 passengers not including the crew of over 1,000. It had many ammenities. There was a water slide, mini golf, swimming pools and hot tubs, casino, shopping, spa, gym, basketball and volleyball court, and shuffle board. Not a dull moment to be had. Lots of rest and relaxation. It was a great way to refresh before for a long summer of kids out of school. Really I truly missed the kids this year. I don't know if it is because Madison is in school all day during the year and Jacob and I have gotten so close with all of our time together. I was ready to see them. :) We were at sea for 2 days (Monday and Tuesday). We started both days with workouts in the morning...I know who workouts on their vacations? Well when you have food offered to you 24/7 you have to do something to be able to wear the clothes you bring! :) We went on this cruise with our good friends, Peter & Kim. This is our second cruise with them. Click on their name and you can view their pictures of the cruise as well. We had a room with a balcony this year. It is the only way to cruise. We loved it. I spent lots of time reading and just watching each port we made on our trip. We arrived in Montego Bay, Jamaica on Wednesday it was so good to see land. Our shore excursion was a Catamaran ride and snorkeling. I love to snorkel. Jason not so much but he endured it for me! Thank you! We then could spend time on the beach or do some shopping. We chose to do some shopping and eating! We were leaving the port and the rain came in. We found out that this is the rainy season for this area. (Note to self...do not plan a trip to this region during rainy season!) Once we got back to the ship Kim and I took to the water slide and rode it about 20-30 times. It was not busy since it was a port day.

The beach.

The storm coming into the Montego Bay as we were leaving port.

We had several formal nights in the dining room. Our first one was on Monday night. It was also the Captain's Dinner where he welcomed us on the ship and we learned a little about him.

Every night our room stewart came in and made towel animals and left them on our bed with the exception of one night it was hanging. It was fun trying to figure our what each animal was.

We arrived in Grand Cayman on Thursday. Our shore excursion was a day at the beach. However, it was a rainy day at the beach. I did some snorkeling and Jason caught some rays (the kind you can't see). I did not get many pics in Cayman because it was wet. When the storms came through we packed up and headed to some shopping and eating. However, we did not buy anything in Cayman except lunch. I can't find any of my pics from Cayman so check out Peter & Kim's link to see them.
We had another formal night in the dining room.
We also had a couple of nights of midnight buffets. This one was the big one! They even had an hour set aside before serving just to take photos. It was amazing. All the work put into it. All the food looked so good it was hard to decide what to eat!
On Friday we arrived in Cozumel. This by far was the shore excursion we had all been waiting for. The weather held out for us. We had a few showers but nothing major and short lived. Our shore excursion was swimming with the dolphins. AWESOME. If you ever visit Cozumel you must consider this excursion. I will post later on this excursion with pics.
This was the entrance to the Dolphin resort where we swam with the dolphins.

Our ship the Carnival Conquest docked at Cozumel.

We had one more full day at sea on Saturday to head back to Galveston. We slept in on this day and had breakfast sent to our room. We enjoyed it on our balcony. Then Jason and I headed up for some mini-golf. We had fun. I caught a few more rays and then we met up for tea. Yes, we got the guys to join us for tea a couple of times on the cruise. They had some great desserts and appetizers and that is what brought them back each time!
Afternoon Tea!

Mini Golf, did I mention that I won the first round.
Jason won the second. He claims he needed to warm up and the wind played a factor in his game!
More to come!

Sounds like you had a great time! I know what you mean about missing your kids though. It seems like it would be more fun to see it all through their eyes!
