We had been in the car nearly all day today picking up Jason and taking him to a doctor's appointment and then taking him back to work and back home. I took the kids to the library on our way home from dropping Jason back off at work. They love the library and I love to take them. We go every 2 weeks and get a bag full of books and generally have them all read by the end of day one. We got home after 3pm so I decided that putting Jacob down for a nap was not going to happen since it would not be a long one. So I told the kids they could have some free time and do whatever they wanted. They chose to play separately. Jacob played cars and then ended up looking a books. Madison decided to make her own laptop computer. So she folded a sheet of paper in half and took off to the office to copy the keyboard on one half of her paper. I was truly impressed with her imagination. She was so proud of her creation. I was also amazed at how my kids have so many toys but when it comes down to it they are really into books or creating things. I love that! I love that I get to watch them explore everyday. I am ready for school to start but I am sad that I will only get a few hours a day with Madison. She is not looking forward to being away from me. We have grown so close this summer given all that has gone on. Both of the kids have really grown attached to me. However, when it comes to rough play they still want their daddy! They also greet him every night at the door as he comes in from work and they ask me several times a day "when is daddy coming home!" I love that too! I know Jason loves that as well. We are so blessed to have such wonderful creations from God.
