Summer Vacation 2009

Well, we finally did it. Our first "long" family road trip complete with hotel rooms and lots of eating out! The kids and I go every summer to my parents and Jason and I have been on several cruises without the kids. After our long summer last year we decided we needed to make some fun family memories. We put the trip in our kids hands. I know a little scary. We asked them what they wanted to do for a vacation. They both agreed they wanted to go to a beach. We contemplated a trip to Mexico but decided we wanted the "road trip" memory. So we decided on Texas. We began our journey South to Georgetown, TX. I have an Aunt, Uncle and Cousin who live there and a love of golf (this was for Jason) but the kids and I had a great time with my family as well. While Jason golfed with my Uncle, the kids and I and my Aunt and Cousin spent the day feeding ducks and playing in a local park. We also had a great tour of Jason and I's dream retirement community. Stay tuned for our next leg of the journey!

The Texas Visitor Center/Rest stop just over the border. A memorial and a time to stretch our legs.
