Shoveling out!
One week of pure bliss...ok maybe not pure bliss. Madison was out of school all week and it has been awhile since Jacob and Madison have had to spend that much time together not to mention not leaving the house for 4 days. I finally ventured out with the kids on Wednesday afternoon...Jacob had a much needed haircut appointment that I did not want to reschedule. After 3 attempts at getting the van in the garage I decided it was time to shovel (chip away ice more like it!). I never realized how much of an incline we have in our driveway until the sleet accumulated. I chipped away some divets in the ice to get the van up the drive and into the garage. Then on Thursday when we had 40 degree temps I began my quest. I put Jacob down for a nap and told Madison I needed 1 hour to work on the driveway. Well 1 hour turned into 2 1/2 grouling hours. We had a drift of sleet piled up on Jason's side of the driveway and it took lots of chipping to get it down to shovel. Then I needed to clear a path for the van as well. I never realized how wide the driveway was until I had to shovel it. My obliques(sp?) are very sore...I felt like I was in Chrissey Pilates class the next day and my hands I could hardly open and close they were so sore. Kim Walden stopped by as I was working on the drive and wished me luck! :) Needless to say it is done except for the side where the hoopty (Jason's toy 1989 Lincoln Town Car) is parked. Jason was disappointed I did not clear a path for it. I told him he could work on that himself! We are suppose to have 1-3 inches of snow today (Saturday) but it is not looking too promising yet! Thank goodness I really would like to stay away from the shoveling for a while! Until next time.
