What to do?

What do you do when your kids are gone at Nana & Papa's? Well I really did not know what I was going to do but I managed to stay plenty busy. Oh and I did relax some as well! (That is very hard for me to do!) The biggest project I tackled while the kids were gone was the landscaping in the front. I was planning to start earlier in the summer when it was not quite so hot but this turned out to be the best time to do it. Wouldn't you know 100+ degrees all week!

It is not often I remember before pics but I did this time. This is what it looked like before the change.

Another before picture.

During the process of change.

Crepe Mrytle...I just love them and finally broke down and bought 2!

Notice the fabric I laid down to prevent weeds and grass growth. I was getting tired of pulling weeds and grass out every other week. Well worth the effort to get it in!

Fountain grass...I hope it makes it. It takes quite a beating with the wind!

After mulch and lights were added.

More mulch and lights.

All done!

I started at 6:30am and with a 2 hour break for a Pilates class I came back and finished about 3pm. I was exhausted and hot!

GREAT work! You're more woman than me in this heat. I haven't even been going out to pull the grass out of my beds the last few weeks.

Looks awesome! I'm assuming you got all of those plants from HD? I could never have done this. You're my hero!

Is there any other home improvement store? Of course, I bought it all at HD.
